| | | | When Vista starts up, the desktop will look normal, then the whole screen
will flash, then the icons show up but they are enlarged, then it stalls,
flashes again and goes back to normal. What gives? Does this happen to anyone
else?
My laptop came with Vista installed brand new. This problem has been
happening since I bought it - I thought there would be a fix by now!

I'm gonna take a guess here and say it is your laptop searching for an
external monitor. I get a minor burp, but your's sounds worse. If you
don't use an external monitor on your laptop, try this
start>control panel>administrative options>task scheduler.
On the left-hand side, click "Task Scheduler Local" (you should already
be there, but just in case).
Expand "Task Scheduler Library," then expand "Microsoft," then expand
"Windows," then click "MobilePC."
In the center window, you'll see a task called "TMM." Click it, and on
the right-hand side, click "Disable."
Reboot
