Discovered the blog below that contains detail instructions on how to fix your Vista installation if you're having Internet Explorer v7 crashed and have the Adobe Flash Player installed:

http://blog.libertech.net/blogs/lketchum/archive/2008/01/29/gritty-nits-fix-internet-explorer-7-crashes-in-vista.aspx

[UPDATE]: After scouring the MS Technet Forums (you wouldn't believe how MANY posts they have on this problem) have compiled the following some additional "fixes" for this problem. There seems to be no consistency or predictability regarding which, if any of these will work for you. All you can do is try each one in turn:

1) Disable Protected Mode:
- Control Panel --> Internet Options
- Security TAB, uncheck "Enable Protected Mode"
- Click APPLY and OK.

Note: If a little yellow bar comes up under the address bar annoying you about Protected Mode being turned off, just click it and select the option that doesn't notify you about anymore.

2) Disable Phishing protection:
- Control Panel --> Internet Options
- Advanced TAB, scroll down the Settings to Security, Phishing Filter.
- Click Disable Phishing Filtering
- Click APPLY and OK.

Note: Another way to do this:
- IE7 --> Tools menu --> Phishing Filer --> Turn off Automatic Website checking

3) Uninstall IE 7 Add-ons
- IE7 --> Tools menu --> Manage Add-ons --> Enable or Disable Add-ons
- Disable all the add-ons in the list
- Retry
- If fixed, re-enable the add-ons one at a time. When IE 7 fails, you've found the "bad" add-on.

4) Check for KB935544 fix
Go to the following MS page and follow the Workaround at the bottom:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935544

5) OmniPage Pro conflict
If you have OmniPage Pro (or the SE version) installed, uninstall it or at least disable it from starting up using the standard MSCONFIG approach.

6) Yahoo conflicts
If you have Yahoo Browser or Yahoo Instant Messenger installed, uninstall them or at least disable them from starting using the standard MSCONFIG approach.

7) Disabline/removing IE 7 CoInstall Key
- Open registry editor (regedit)
- Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\UseCoInstall
-Change the value to zero
-Close regedit
-If this doesn't fix it, go back to the same key and remove it.

8) Brute-force RESET
Note: This will reset ALL your IE 7 settings to default and disable the add-ons. But in some cases, this is the only thing that worked.
- IED 7 --> Tools --> Internet Options
- Click Advanced tab
- Click RESET button

9) Nvidia Networking conflict
If you are using an Nvidia network controller (i.e., in the case of nforce motherboards), you could try uninstalling the Nvidia nforce Network Access Manager
Sorry -- don't have any details on this, just a claim that it fixed the problem.

[Another Update]

10) Have report that CA Internet Security Suite also causes problems. If you have that installed, try uninstalling it to see if that helps.
