I recently purchased the PRS500 ebook reader from Sony. To use the device you must install Connect. I tried to install it but everytime I would get an error message in install wizard that said there was an interruption during installation so it could not be completed. I saw in an article that Sony was having compatibilty problems with Connect and Windows Vista. I'm using Vista so I'm wondering if thats my problem and if so, how to make it work. I'd really like to try out my new gadget but I need some help with this before I can do anything on it. Anybody have a PRS500 and using Vista or know of a possible fix I could try?

Did you check this FAQ at the Sony site?

Yes I did check the FAQs and found nothing that was closely related to my problem. I also sent Sony an email and told them my problem. Their suggestions to me were to go in and delete my cookies and browsing history, and to change my security settings and privacy setttings.  I did everything they told me to do and nothing has fixed the problem. I tried to install another program just to make sure it wasn't something wrong with my system and that installation went fine so I really think it is an issue between Sony and Vista. Other people have told me to make sure that my system meets all the requirements to install the program so I've checked that and everything seems to be ok there. When i'm trying to install the program all other programs and apps are closed so I don't know why installation is being interrupted.

Forgot to put this in my earlier post but when I went to the Sony support site I did find updates for the PRS500 that should make it perform better but when I downloaded those, they also failed during installation. Not sure what the problem is, but it seems to be something that happens only when I deal with Sony.
