| | New to the site... I have had no problems in the past, now all the sudden my internet is very slow and when I fist pull the net up, it does not work for about 2 minutes. I have a cable modem with high speed. I noticed now in the corner of the start menu it looks a little different (next to the time.), I am talking about the two small computer icons that pops up and means you are connected, now its the same picture but there is a little blue box... Anyway I noticed before when you wave the mouse over the icon it would say connected. Now it says connected to Network and Network 2. I am confused on how there are two networks? Also under network sharing Network 1 is private and Network 2 is public. I cannot figure this out also cannot figure out how to remove network 2. Any help at all would sure save me from pulling my hair and breaking my computer screen. Thanks |

| In Network and Sharing Center, you have two Network sections, one labeled private and the other public?
If so, under each network section, click the View Status link. Then click the Properties button on the General tab of the Connection Status panel, then accept the UAC prompt. The Networking tab will show which network adapter the network is using.
My guess is that you have two network adapters at work at the same time. Click the Disable button on the Connection Status panel to shutdown the network you don't want to use.
