| | For some days i am really facing a problem but cant recognize the cause for the problem. I just do a reinstall everytime when i see the problem. Its related to the booting of windows vista home premium. I have separated the booting process in four stages. 1. The Microsoft Corporation logo with the progress bar moving almost on the bottom center of the screen 2. The Windows vista logo appearance 3. The user selection window 4. The loading of the selected user profile. I see the first part taking a long time to change over the next one.It was usually 8-9 turns and maximum 10. But nowadays it takes almost 30-35 turns. Cant understand the reason for this. Please explain if anyone is aware of this issue and the steps to resolve it, because i am really fed up with reinstallation.

| What do you mean by "turns"? If you mean seconds, say that. If you mean minutes, say that.
If you're saying it takes 30 minutes to boot past the progress bar screen, that is a long time. If you're saying 30 seconds, that's not a problem.
While reinstallation may fix some problems, it creates others in that you are then faced with reinstalling possibly hundreds of Windows Updates as well as SP 3.
Vista does do hard drive searches and network resolution during boot, and wireless takes an especially long time. So, if you have wireless turned on while you're booting, that can take several minutes to load. The other possibility is a failing drive, which, as it gets worse over time, forces repeated reads of the boot and load sectors until it eventually fails. Best approach there is to find out what vendor built the drive, go to their site, and download any utility they provide to analyze the health of the drive.
