after laguage screen
i choose to format drive(succsesful)

all seems to be going well i get green ticks by copying windows files

| Try installing with less than 4GB of memory. There have been problems reported trying to install Vista with that much memory in the machine.
ASUS A832nSLI-Deluxe, AMD 64X2 4400 OC 2.4GHz, 3GB OCZ,
Running: XP Pro, Vista Ultimate 32-bit, Vista Business, Ubuntu 7.10, Ubuntu 8.04 LTS

| Is it a new or used hard drive? If new, I doubt it's a hard drive problem.
Did you take out the 2GB?
Are you using USB mouse/keyboard or PS/2?

| Hey, I know this is going to sound crazy, but I read a post a while back where the same thing happened to another guy -- who solved it by loading the SATA drivers for the chipset.
Evidently, it's possible for WinPE (which handles the installation) to detect a SATA drive but Vista to choke on it. So, you need to grab the SATA drivers for the chipset and load them using F6 when you install the OS. Maybe that will help.
I really doubt this is a memory, HDD, or PSU issue.
