If you are using Windows Live Mail click on the menu icon in the toolbar
>options and >spelling.
May be likewise with Vista Mail, but don't know.

Don't you need MS Office installed to use this feature? I know under OE and
Windows Mail you do.

Not as far as I know. The spell check is available to me in Windows Live
Mail and I don't have Office installed

Insert CD. Start Application. Run Spell Check. Done.
