| | | | I have just got a new computer which is running Windows Vista Home Premium
on 64 bit system. Unfortunately I can not find a driver for my scanner which
is an Epson Perfection 1650.
Epson have one for the 32 bit system but have not produced one for the 64bit
version of Vista.
Can anyone help, preferably in non technical terminology?

Non technically: you're screwed.

The 1650 is very old - from Windows 98 days - and there will never be
any 64-bit drivers for it.
You can try VueScan from http://www.hamrick.com/ but you would probably
do better buying a new scanner.

For a solution look at:
'PlanetAMD64 > EPSON Perfection 1650 Vista x64 Driver is now
available&33;'

Download and extract the file you will find in my last posts "look at".
If you have trouble extracting the files go to '7-Zip'
(http://www.7-zip.org/) and download and install their free zip/unzip
program.
Run the Setup from the extract from the PlanetAMD64 file and then plug
in your scanner and turn it on.
It worked for me on Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP-1. If you are using
Office 2007 you will have to go to "Control Panel" - "Programs and
Features" then select your Ofice Application or Word and do a "Right
Click" "Change" and activate Document Imaging to accept your scans
before inserting them into Office apps.
