| | I have just downloaded Vista SP2, but when I double click it it says it cannot be opened (sort of like an open with file, i think it is)..When downloading I put "(SP2)" at the end of the filename. Could that be the cause? It downloaded properly and successfully. I can't really download it again because I have a download limit which is low as it is. Please Someone help.

| This is what the REAL filename should be: "Windows6.0-KB948465-X86.exe" and it should be about 350MB in size.
BTW, this is for 32-bit Ultimate. The 64-bit version might have a different filename.
If you're NOT being offered SP2 in Windows Update, there's likely to be a driver problem preventing its installation. IF you force the installation, you run the risk of corrupting the Vista OS so it won't boot anymore.
