| I have a 2 year old Acer Aspire 5520 - 5912 that I am looking to give away to a friend (I'm going mac LOL) running vista home premium. When I bought the computer it had vista pre - installed on it, so I dont have any discs. What I want to do is restore the computer to factory state to give away. Acer has a backup utility that gives me that exact option, but what I want to make sure of is that when I do this, Vista will still be on the computer, so I dont end up with a blank laptop and have to pay for windows 7.
So restoring my computer to factory state will not erase vista? right? It will just reset the computer to be the way it was when I bought it?
Thanks in advance! |

| That's what it is SUPPOSED to do, but to be safe, you should check with ACER. Just tell them you're having troubles with Vista (suspected virus or something like that) and you want to restore the machine to factory-fresh condition.
