I did like Deja News better. Google censors groups. Deja didn't.

Funny, it doesn't say anything like that on that link you posted.
Actually, if Google Groups went away it would be a VERY good thing for
Usenet! Google Groups is the modern version of when AOL was let loose on
Usenet, a total nightmare.

It is because of Newsgroups that i was able to sell MANY
electronics/industrial parts, Test&Measurement Equipment, and just anything
by mirroring an Ebay ad on Usenet (posting a quick
description/cross-reference).
One Calgary.forsale group is a giant, one comp.sys.laptops has several
thousands subscribers & little spam.

If Usenet dies I will, WITHOUT jokes, grieve profusely, it would be a blow
to my life.
I am serious. This post is not to amuse you.

I love Usenet, it's been there since 1979 created by Duke University grads
Before it was BBS which required dialing into each BBS individually which at
the time usually racked up your phone bills and easted a lifetime.
For each different BBS you had to dial a different number, wait to connect,
loging, disocnnect, dial the next.

Whoever is attemtping to destroy Usenet deserves our hatred.
Shameon Google if the rumors of it attempting to drop support for Newsgroups
are true.
What they should do is to kill their own Google groups and keep Useness
access active.

You know what? I am willing to pay a small yearly fee for it.
If all fails I will simply pay a small fee to Giganews - which looks like
most successful Usenet provider today
