| Indexing is great because it helps Windows Vista learn how to find your files quickly. But if your PC has limited RAM or a slow processor, this can be a waste of resources. By Default, Windows Vista indexes files constantly to make file searches faster, and disabling this feature can give you a quick speed boost. Right-Click on the start button and select Properties Scroll down to System Administrator Tools and select "Don't Search for Files" and then click OK.
